Thank you to all our residents who supported our Fire Department’s fundraiser by purchasing your pine straw and mulch from us. This fall, we delivered 13,817 bales of pine straw to 409 homes and 55 pallets of mulch to 49 homes.

The proceeds from the groundcover sales are a significant portion of our funding plans for capital items, like trucks and ambulances. Having these funds on hand allows us to pay cash, avoiding expensive long-term financing for these major purchases.

Special thanks go to the 56 Fire Department and 107 resident volunteers who made this campaign possible. These folks unload the semi-trailers full of pine straw, load those bales onto the delivery trailers, and then unload the materials at your home. Our volunteers also escort the delivery vehicles, feed the daily work crews, and do all the planning and
preparation work needed for a successful event.

We also give a big Thank You to A Greener Way Landscaping for providing trailers for pine straw deliveries and to Builders FirstSource for trucks and drivers for mulch pallet deliveries.

This generous community support for our all-volunteer Fire Department is most greatly appreciated and critical to our financial strength!
