It is with deepest regret that the SJFD Board of Directors announces the passing of Joe Castagnola, Board Member and Grant Writer for the Department, on Sunday, February 1, 2026.  Joe served the Department for several years and also worked with the SOICF Food Pantry, the St. James Service Club and others.  “Joe was a great friend, a gentle and thoughtful counsellor to me and the Board, and a generous and dedicated supporter of the Department for many years.  He will be sorely missed by all who knew and worked with him”, said Board President Jim Crum.  We in the Department extend our deepest sympathies to his wife, Jean, and all of his family.
